For over a decade, my husband and I longed for a child. We went through endless fertility tests, surgeries, medications, and more IVF cycles than we can count. In those years, we faced everything from multiple miscarriages to chemical pregnancies , the kind of heartbreak that leaves you empty, yet somehow still hopeful. We moved from clinic to clinic, across countries, each time believing this might be the one. I had fibroids removed twice, endured injections, blood tests, procedures , and countless nights crying in silence. In 2021, hoping our miracle would finally come. There was a pregnancy , with triplets , our joy was indescribable. But on August 2nd, 2022, our world crashed again when we were told all three babies had stopped growing. That pain… there are no words for it. I felt completely broken. But deep inside, a small voice whispered , don’t give up yet. So I wrote to Dr. Aimee Eyvazzadeh, a woman I had followed online for years. I poured out our story in an email, not sure if she would ever reply ,after all, I lived across the ocean. But to my surprise, she did. And from her very first email, she radiated compassion, warmth, and understanding. Her message began with, “I’m so sorry this is all happening to you :(((” — and ended with practical, hopeful next steps. A few hours later, another email came: “You absolutely can be my patient.” Those words brought me to tears. After years of being told what was wrong with me, here was a doctor who started with possibility. Her signature phrase, “Hot smokes!”, always made me smile , her excitement was real, her energy contagious. Dr. Aimee looked deeper, asked the right questions, and treated us like humans , not statistics. Her care blended science, soul, and humor. I knew instantly that I had found the right place, even if it meant traveling from the UK to the U.S. But beyond Dr. Aimee herself, I have to mention two incredible women who made our journey even more special. Shout out to the amazing Sherry Chang , at the time, the billing coordinator. She handled every delay in our international transfers with such grace and kindness. Whenever funds took longer to arrive because of overseas processing, she would gently say, “Please don’t worry , focus on your treatment, that’s what’s most important.” She never once made us feel pressured. She made us feel cared for. Her heart for people goes beyond her job , she even welcomed us into her church family, The Rock Church, making us feel seen and loved far from home. And then there’s Jamie Walker , whose name will forever be etched in our hearts. She’s the one who broke the most beautiful news of our lives: “Congratulations, we’re pregnant.” I will never forget that moment , the words we had waited over a decade to hear. The tears, the laughter, the disbelief, the joy. It was finally real. And now, here we are , holding our son, Nosazena, our miracle, our answered prayer. Every time we look at him, we remember the journey, the faith, the science, and the love that made him possible. This September 12th, as we celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary with our son by our side, we couldn’t stop thanking God , and thanking Dr. Aimee and her amazing team. I thought they would have empathy and compassion for how stressful this situation is, but instead she just rejected us before we ever got the opportunity to have the consultation.
Dr. Aimee is an absolute gem of an human and the best fertility doctor out there. She is empathetic, responsive, funny, kind, curious, communicative, smart and so much more. All…Dr. Aimee is an absolute gem of an human and the best fertility doctor out there. She is empathetic, responsive, funny, kind, curious, communicative, smart and so much more. All of the traits you need in a good doctor and collaborator. She involves you in the decision making of your care and always shares all options available to you. Some of the things I love about her are the following : - She lets you know all testing options at every stage of the process. This I love because she empowers patients to make a choice about how much they want to know prior to a cycle (many REs, including my first RE, don’t bring up testing options until 3 losses or failures — this can cause a lot of trauma and emotional distress). - She is basically as fast as Dr. google. During an infertility journey so many questions arise and she encourages you to email her whenever you have one (big or small, basic or complex). And she always answers within hours. This helps with anxiety and not to go down rabbit holes. She also shares her cell which you can text for urgencies. - After a failed cycle she makes sure to call you and make a plan within a day or two so you don’t feel in dreaded limbo. So many fertility clinics make you wait weeks until you can talk to your doctor. - She is extremely skilled in what she does and handles most ultrasounds directly. This helps make sure nothing is missed and that ultrasounds are consistent. She caught endometriosis on ultrasound during my first consult with her (I had already done 3 rounds of IVF elsewhere and had 3 losses). She then sent me to 3 of the best endo surgeons in the world for consults and encouraged me to get surgery. I believe this is one of the key things that helped me have success (my previous doctor missed endo and would have pushed Lupron alone if he had caught it which probably wouldn’t have helped with the extensive endo I had). - She listens!! After my endo surgery I started working with an endo dietician (which she totally supported, approved of, and worked with). The endo dietician thought I might have celiac and Dr. Aimee swiftly ordered tests to confirm the finding. This was another pivotal moment in my care. - She is constantly researching and trying new things. Many REs won’t recommend or allow you to try newer procedures or tests because “more studies need to be done”. Dr. Aimee instead is open and at least gives you the information available so you can make an informed decisions! I did ovarian PRP with Dr. Aimee the month I had success (I have DOR). I could honestly go on forever about what a great doctor she is, but hopefully this is enough to convince you that she’s the right doctor for you. While I don’t know what ultimately led to our success (I conceived naturally 8 months after my endo surgery, 3 months after my celiac diagnosis, the month of my ovarian PRP, among other thing), I am so confident that without Dr. Aimee I wouldn’t be where I am today. She helped me assemble the right team of people (endo surgeon, dietician, psychiatrist, reproductive immunologist, etc), discovered multiple diagnosis and helped me manage them, and kept me sane by being communicative. I will be giving birth to a baby boy in 2.5 weeks and he will know about the doctor that didn’t give up on me and helped me find answers that led us to him ♥️.Dr Aimee will always be one of the most important people in our fertility journey and in our family! The IVF journey is not for the faint of heart so it is important to find a doctor you really like. I’m not sure if I’m an easy or difficult case, but she took me on and figured out my issues immediately. I’m older and I’ve been through IVF before (out of state) and I have a beautiful 3 yr old boy from that. Over a year ago we decided we wanted to try again –this time in CA. I needed an egg donor (though I often wonder if I would have needed that donor had I seen Dr. Aimee when I first started my fertility journey 6 years ago). Hindsight is 20/20! After having 2 IVF transfers over the past year, 2 pregnancies, and 2 miscarriages (with another doctor in the Bay Area- Spring Fertility) I knew I needed to make a change. My embryos were tested so it really was odd that either, and definitely both ended in a miscarriage. Dr. Aimee was recommended to me by my OBGYN. I contacted her late one evening and she responded to my email immediately. That was so nice. After that conversation I got set up to see her a few days later. Dr. Aimee knew the right questions to ask to get at some information that was missed by my previous doctor. That information was very likely the cause of both miscarriages. She treated me like a patient and not a file. She customized my treatment, which saved me time, money, and heartache. And it gave us answers. She took extra precautions to help ensure a successful transfer, which was so comforting. She also was very understanding to my anxiety around the transfer and the ultrasounds following the transfer. She never lost sight of my history—again making me feel like she cared about me and my journey as a human, a woman, and a hopeful mom (currently 12 weeks pregnant). If you’ve been through IVF or are close to someone who has, you know it can be a soul-crushing emotional roller coaster. But Dr. Aimee makes it a much smoother ride. Both of my girls were at the same fertility clinic in the Eastern US (where we’re from). They both switched to Dr. Aimee. This is not to disparage their prior fertility clinic in any way. The professionals with whom they worked were kind and wonderful. It’s just that they didn’t yield any results. My older daughter found Dr. Aimee through Instagram. I traveled to San Francisco with my other daughter (with DOR) recently so she could do a round of treatment with Dr. Aimee. After ONE round she got TRIPLE the success rate of all of her three previous rounds COMBINED!!! DR. AIMEE IS AMAZING! She completely changed my daughter’s protocol from her previous ones and did a PRP treatment to her ovaries a few weeks before retrieval. While I was in the waiting room for my daughter’s egg retrieval I heard the husband of another patient of hers describe her as “magic” and I couldn’t agree more. It’s like she has a third eye. She has intuition and insight I’ve never seen in a doctor before. And in addition to her brilliance, she has a personality that is unmatched by any doctor I’ve ever met in all my years on this planet (and there are many:) And every single person on her staff is absolutely wonderful, including her mother who I was lucky enough to meet <3 I’ve honestly never met anyone like Dr. Aimee. In the past two years and half, my husband and I have sought the advice of many infertility specialists and clinics in Boston MA. Despite their credentials and good intentions, our journey with them has always been difficult: exhausting bureaucracy, long waiting times, and the overall perception of being just “another patient”. Last year we moved to the Bay Area, and after a few months we got in contact with Dr. Aimee and her team. From the very beginning, both my husband and I have been completely blown away by her expertise, her dedication to the profession and the patients. She was involved at every step of the process (she even took the time to draw some blood for the routine tests, and let me tell you, it was the quickest and swiftest blood draw I have ever experienced!). Dr. Aimee and her team are incredibly responsive and flexible (flexible appointment times, and very quick response to our emails), which allowed us to accomplish more in 6 months during a pandemic than 2 years with a top infertility clinic in Boston. Not once we have felt uncomfortable, she has really put us first every single time with patience and understanding. When certain attempts would not work, she gave us hope through encouragement and planning. I've been to quite a few clinics, and have never received the level of care and support that I have from Dr. Aimee. I first became aware of her from her fabulous podcast. I was struck by her unwavering passion and dedication to helping women from around the globe. My partner and I decided to schedule a video consultation with her, as we are currently living abroad and cannot return to the USA (due to COVID) for our fertility treatment. The clinics where we are living are subpar, and we knew we weren't getting the level of treatment we'd get back in California. Dr. Aimee immediately put our minds at ease, coached us through our entire IVF process (from 9,000 miles away!), including adjusting medication doses, recommending supplements, and taking great care to analyze our medical history to pinpoint possible issues. (None of this was done by the clinic here.) Without Dr. Aimee's support, we wouldn't have been able to do an IVF cycle without a tremendous amount of stress and worrying. (And our outcome would have been far less successful.) It's rare to find a doctor who not only has the practical skills and smarts—and Dr Aimee is as smart as they come—but also has the ability to form an emotional connection that makes you feel that she TRULY cares. She replies to emails immediately—even on weekends— (seriously, does she ever sleep!?) is encouraging, supportive, and knowledgable. The best part is that she always has an answer to help alleviate any/all of your concerns. Having her as our cheerleader has been life changing. I cannot stress this enough. Fertility is a highly emotional issue. No matter what happens with your journey, you're miles ahead (and can sleep a little more easy) with Dr. Aimee in your corner.
