During this time Dr. Skillern was in the process of switching to her new boutique,…Dr. Skillern is awful. I was referred to her by my OBGYN once it was discovered I had low AMH. During this time Dr. Skillern was in the process of switching to her new boutique, Flora. I felt ignored, dismissed, not taken seriously, and treated inhumanly. I went through many painful tests because that was their process. In one test one of my fallopian tubes didn’t “fill and spill” and her reply was, “MAYBE it was just an issue on the nurses side of a glitch on the scan.” Never did she say, “let’s try it again to see if we can get a better look and figure it out.” I just went along with what she said. I am a plus size woman. She always ended the video consultation with, “if you would just loose weight.” Never, we can try this, we can try that. No it was, “you are too fat, you need to lose weight.” I finally got fed up and wrote an email stating I was sorry I was not her targeted demographic and that my OBGYN referred me to her because she was the best in the area at treating women with Low AMH. Her reply was gross. 6 years later and still no baby. To this day I regret ever meeting her. She didn’t take my care seriously. She was more focused on creating her new boutique’s brand and catering to rich women who look like her and her partner. If you are a woman of any color or heaven forbid the least bit overweight. AVOID THIS PLACE and DR. SKILLERN.R

I have been to nearly every clinic in Austin over an 8 year period, and Fora is the best: so straightforward, fact-driven, humble, hopeful, and determined to help their patients achieve their dreams for their families. I am a fangirl of Dr. Skillern and Crawford for life - these women are working science miracles, and doing it with class and love. At Fora we did IUIs, egg freezing (two cycles), and 1 IVF cycle. Each step of the way we were treated with the upmost care, empathy, and patience. Both my husband and I like to ask a lot of questions, and everyone always took their time to explain processes and medications to us. I cannot imagine the fortitude these nurses and providers must have to do this day in, day out, with all the extreme ups and downs of this kind of work, and still maintain such kindness and joy for all of the patients they see. I am so grateful for their grounding presence. Best of luck to whoever is reading this on your journey to growing your family. After a year long pause…We spent several years at another large fertility clinic with no success. We were beyond exhausted, disappointed, heartbroken, and ready to call it quits. After a year long pause we contacted our insurance company to see if any other Austin area clinics were in network for a possible switch. Fora was on the list so we decided to meet with Dr. Crawford for a consultation and see if there was something our previous doctor may have missed and if there was any possibility of a viable pregnancy for us. Dr. Crawford took the time to read through years of fertility treatment records and was so warm, compassionate, and honest when speaking with us. She believed there were some things that were missed and could be done differently in my individualized treatment plan. We left the consultation meeting feeling hopeful and after many long conversations decided to try IVF one more time. We officially switched clinics and it was the absolute best decision we've ever made. The entire staff at Fora is so kind and professional. Dr. Crawford and her nursing team (Hannah, Savannah, and Mel) were always in sync and always on time. I especially appreciated the early morning appointments for monitoring and bloodwork as they were easy to schedule and squeeze in before work. The portal was foolproof and the nurses were very quick to respond when I had questions. They make you feel like a person not just a number. Although Dr. Crawford is my primary doctor, we had the opportunity to meet Dr. Skillern for my egg retrieval and a few monitoring appointments. She and her nurse Rikki were just as wonderful too. All this to say, after 6 years of fertility treatments, I'm writing this review with a healthy 10 month old. We would not have this precious baby without Dr. Crawford. Her expertise and personalized care changed our lives and there are no words to properly thank her and the team. If you're just starting your fertility journey or on the fence about switching clinics give Fora a chance. They may just change your life for the better. I was having trouble getting to school because I was likely running a fever that first day of Covid. My partner had already left our home. Half way through my appointment, disoriented and hoarse, I called the Fora office and explained that I didn't feel well and told her how much I had waited for this first appointment. The woman on the phone realized I had lost my voice but told me that since my virtual appointment was scheduled in that moment and already in progress that I could not see the doctor, would have to rebook and pay $500 up front, and I would still be charged for this appointment. I am not sure how many stars to give here since other offices are more understanding and human than Fora. I mean, if a doctor and their office can't understand or cooperate when a patient was extremely sick, what quality of service and care do they provide. I emailed the office this and received no response, so I thought I'd let everyone know.E

At Fora, they immediately figured out what was causing our issues, and efficiently managed our treatment each step of the way. They run on time (which was so helpful as I needed to miss work for appointments) and answer questions quickly and with a high level of detail. They have great systems for communication and always follow through. It made a stressful process much easier to manage and cope with! My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years, and unfortunately my experience with this clinic was disappointing and stressful. I was first scheduled for a short virtual consult…My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years, and unfortunately my experience with this clinic was disappointing and stressful. I was first scheduled for a short virtual consult that lasted about 10 minutes. The doctor showed slides with statistics about conception by age and essentially told us we were young and healthy and should have no trouble conceiving. This cost a specialist copay up front, which felt impersonal and unhelpful. Next, I was scheduled for a FemVue and ultrasound, which required $500 upfront. During the procedure, the doctor briefly commented that it looked like I had a “heart-shaped uterus or a septum,” and then left the room without explaining what that meant. If you’ve ever Googled those terms, you know how frightening they sound. This caused a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety for me, especially since I wasn’t given any explanation or reassurance. We also paid $200 for my husband’s labs and never received any results — not even a follow-up call. When my insurance lapsed, the clinic wanted another $300 for a short follow-up virtual consult just to discuss results. At that point I started to feel like their priority was billing, not patient care. Once I had new coverage, I got a second opinion at another clinic (which was actually in-network). The difference was night and day. The new doctor spent 30 minutes with us in person, went through our TTC history and health in detail, and outlined a clear plan. She ordered an HSG (not FemVue), explained why, and later confirmed via ultrasound that my uterus is completely normal with no septum or abnormal shape. She even mentioned that FemVue is often billed as an office procedure because it reimburses better, but it doesn’t actually give much useful diagnostic information. Looking back, I feel misled and frustrated with how the first clinic handled my care. I want to warn others to be cautious—especially if you feel like you’re being pushed into expensive procedures without clear explanations or next steps. Fertility treatment is already an emotional journey, and patients deserve thorough communication and ethical care.D

After consulting with many doctors, we decided to meet with Dr. Crawford. We had learned about her early on through her fertility masterclass, but because her clinic was in Austin, we never thought of her as an option. Three years after that masterclass, when we had nearly lost hope and longed for a doctor who would truly believe in us, we scheduled a consultation. From the very first moment we met Dr. Crawford she treated us like humans, not just a number. Moreover, she had reviewed three years worth of notes, exams and labs ahead of meeting with us, so she could bring an informed set of questions to our discussion. Unlike others, she did not believe a gestational carrier was our next step. Instead, she immediately created a plan to get us to a transfer. After a minor procedure and a more natural approach to an FET, we transferred one of our embryos, and it stuck. I am now 12 weeks pregnant!! Words cannot capture the compassion and flexibility the team showed us, especially since we were traveling from several hours away. Dr. Crawford, her nurse Hannah, and the wonderful staff, including Rikki and Melissa, have left a lasting impact on our lives. If you are searching for a clinic that will truly partner with you on this journey, we cannot recommend Fora Fertility enough.

I sought a second opinion from Dr. Crawford with the hope of improving my chances for success. However, from the outset, I was told I could only be seen if I switched my care entirely to her practice. Dr. Crawford initially reassured me that she could retrieve more eggs than my previous clinic, but unfortunately, the outcome was the opposite—I ended up with fewer embryos than I did at my previous clinic. What was even more disappointing was that Dr. Crawford was not present for any of my appointments or the egg retrieval. Additionally, I was told that I would need to pay for another round of treatment just to receive any feedback or discuss my results. This made me feel as though my care was secondary to financial gain. Throughout my experience, I felt that Dr. Crawford's focus was more on social media and building her online presence than on providing personalized care. Overall, I left feeling unsupported and undervalued, both emotionally and financially. While this was my personal experience, I feel it’s important to share so others can make an informed decision.S

We came to Fora after going to another fertility clinic in Austin and not feeling heard or understood. In our first consultation with Dr. Crawford she asked us questions that the first fertility clinic never asked and was completely honest with us about our goals and the possibility of achieving those goals. With the consultation alone, we felt at ease and felt confident with starting our journey with the Fora team. The whole team is amazing and their patient portal made it easy to communicate with the nurses or the doctor. While Dr. Crawford was our main doctor, we had a few appointments with Dr. Skillern and from those appointments alone, I knew how great of a team they are and what a great dynamic they have created at Fora. What they have built at Fora is amazing and while a fertility journey can be hard and uneasy, they gave us hope and confidence that we would achieve our family goals. I went with Fora, and I am now a happy mom! My fertility journey started in 2020, unexplained with a minor male factor. I went through 3 rounds of IUIs at Aspire with no success.…I went with Fora, and I am now a happy mom! My fertility journey started in 2020, unexplained with a minor male factor. I went through 3 rounds of IUIs at Aspire with no success. Shortly we learned IVF is our next step. We had no insurance coverage for fertility and were fully self-paid. I interviewed every single clinic in town to pick my provider. My top priority was getting the result (pregnancy and healthy birth). The price mattered but was not our number one factor in this decision. So, simply put, I needed a team who could get this job done. Dr. Crawford seemed knowledgeable, data-driven, and had decent success rates for people in our age group/situation. We picked Fora, and it was the best decision ever made. The journey was not smooth sailing. First, we had to cancel one cycle because we didn't get enough eggs to mature and had to double down on meds. The second medication cycle got us to retrieval, but way fewer blasts than we were hoping for. However, finally, we got the embryo we needed. The first transfer was successful, and nine months later, I had my baby boy, cute, happy and healthy. I am eternally grateful to the Fora team for - Being highly organized. This includes appointments, patients portal, communication, and clarity on pricing. - Focusing on getting the job done. Each bump on the road was tackled as best as possible. And there will be bumps on this road. - Providing context and options for each decision we were making. I felt informed and in the loop at all times.
