Rather than addressing any of them, Mr. Check simply stated that responding point-by-point “would not be productive.” We have since sought a second opinion, and the new fertility specialist was shocked by some of the prescriptions and treatment protocols used by this office. I am now exploring my legal options, although I understand the arbitration clause may complicate that process. If anyone has experience with a similar situation, I’d appreciate your advice. I also plan to file complaints with the appropriate New Jersey medical boards, as I believe this practice deserves further review. Original post. I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience. Over the past 5 cycles we have undergone continuous testing and spent approximately $18,000, yet we have not once reached the stage of egg retrieval. Repeatedly, we’ve been told that the window was missed due to insufficient data, which is deeply frustrating. This last cycle they missed, they said we should do IUI, I gave a sample, and they came out almost two hours later explaining the test tube broke and they lost the sample, and we could wait for the nurse since the doctor was leaving. What makes this particularly disappointing is not just the outcome, but the lack of progress. Had we at least had one opportunity for retrieval, the experience might feel more understandable. Instead, 5 cycles of testing without even a single attempt is disheartening. In speaking with others, including friends slightly older than us, their experiences have been drastically different with other clinics. They were able to complete multiple egg retrievals within a few months due to more attentive care and timely follow-up and are in utter shock to hear about our lack of progress. Communication throughout this process has been inconsistent and difficult to manage. There is no centralized patient portal, and updates come unpredictably—sometimes via phone, other times through emails sent at random times, including weekends. This often leaves us scrambling to locate open pharmacies to fill urgent prescriptions. Delays also seem to stem from limited staffing or office availability, which only adds to the challenge. Overall, the process has felt impersonal and poorly coordinated. For something as time-sensitive as fertility treatment, the approach has seemed overly reactive and lacking urgency. It often feels as though the emphasis is on continued testing rather than progressing toward outcomes. From a process standpoint, the lack of follow-up after the initial consultation and absence of a clear, proactive plan has been especially frustrating. There is little sense that the team is learning from prior cycles or adjusting based on the data already collected.
