Embryo Transfer: Understanding the Roles and Process

Embryo transfer is a medical procedure directed by a licensed fertility clinic. The clinic decides the preparation, medication, monitoring, embryo-transfer technique, post-procedure instructions, and follow-up for the individual case. Neither a general article nor a surrogacy agency can maximize or guarantee implantation, pregnancy, or birth.

Before transfer

The treating clinic may review records, obtain consent, set a medication and monitoring plan, and explain which embryo or embryos are being considered under the participants' clinical decisions. Ask the clinic about risks, alternatives, timing, activity, medications, testing, and what to do if a problem occurs.

The procedure and follow-up

The clinic performs the transfer and provides written aftercare and testing instructions. Protocols vary, so do not substitute someone else's schedule, an online lifestyle tip, or an agency recommendation for the clinic's plan. Contact the clinic about symptoms or uncertainty and use emergency services for an immediate safety concern.

Emotional and practical preparation

Waiting after transfer can be difficult. Participants may agree on communication preferences and seek support from their personal network or a licensed mental-health professional. A Patriot Conceptions case manager may coordinate status updates and logistics but does not provide therapy or interpret clinical results.

Patriot Conceptions' role

Patriot Conceptions can coordinate agency records, schedules, travel or appointment logistics, and communication between participants and independent clinics. It does not give expert medical advice, direct embryo transfer, ensure access to clinical care, or promise a smooth or successful result.

Review the current surrogacy process and take medical questions directly to the treating fertility clinic.
