It’s a mix of overwhelming gratitude, emotion, and disbelief that we made it here and so much of that is because of Dr. Ransom and Tasha. From the very beginning, they made me feel seen, heard, and truly cared for. Dr. Ransom never once dismissed my concerns—he listened, he explained, and he respected my thoughts and wishes every step of the way. That meant more to me than I can put into words. In a journey that can feel so uncertain and out of your control, having a doctor who partners with you and genuinely understands is everything. Tasha was just as incredible. She was always there when I needed her—kind, patient, and reassuring in moments that felt overwhelming. Whether it was answering questions, offering encouragement, or just being a steady presence, she made such a difference in my experience. This team didn’t just provide medical care—they provided hope, compassion, and unwavering support. Because of them, I am leaving this clinic pregnant, and that is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I will never forget what they’ve done for me. Forever grateful. 💙🩷S

I’ve had a rare disorder that was diagnosed and treated by another endocrinologist when I was young. I was told then that if I were to have any fertility issues, I needed to look at getting back on my treatment. After having a traumatic miscarriage last month that resulted in an emergency D&C and 3 day hospital stay due to infection, my OBGYN referred me to Dr Ransom to manage my disorder to prevent future miscarriages. Dr Ransom told me that my diagnosis of my disorder “wasn’t convincing,” stated I needed all of this genetic testing, that the steroid treatment wouldn’t even help, that my miscarriage likely didn’t have anything to do with this disorder, telling me conflicting information from what other medical professionals have told me.. the list goes on, but doesn’t stop there. Dr Ransom decided it was best practice to bounce his head and make a face at me when I wasn’t speaking because I was holding back tears. And then told me he could “see by the disbelief in my face that he knew I didn’t believe him.” Needless to say I will NOT be going back and this was a complete and total waste of my time and energy. Just because I have a rare disorder does not mean it isn’t there, and just because it does not present in the “usual” fashion doesn’t mean it isn’t there. I did not have the “usual” course of diagnosis or treatment with this disorder, therefore the presentation will not be “usual.” If you don’t know what you’re talking about, just say that instead of wasting my time.M

They rush you through the appointments because their days are overpacked. In my early thirties, going through fertility issues, he insensitivity told me my blood work was close to that of a post menopausal woman. He suggested IUI which we did twice and failed each time. I eventually left with no success or even hope and went to PREG where they told me, in their opinion, IUI would have been ruled out based on medical evaluation. I feel like this office/doctor just want to take your money and don’t evaluate your individual case to tailor treatment for the individual patient situation. He corners the market by at least 1.5 hours, but it’s worth the drive!J

I should have trusted my gut, grabbed my wife’s hand and left during our first visit when the “doctor” refused to shake my hand, because of Covid. This was FOUR YEARS AFTER COVID! I made the comment that I thought we were done with COVID, and from that time onward he was rather cold to us both and would make little comments inferring his disdain for those with different political views than him. After a couple attempts at timed intercourse, we decided to pony up the money for IUI. Before this procedure was even finished, he essentially said that it likely wouldn’t work, and that we should consider IVF next. My wife almost started crying while on the exam table, feet up in the stirrups. At that point, we both agreed that we would never go back. When we recovered from this terrible experience with that “doctor” and decided to transfer to Carolina Fertility, the office staff at ETSU all but refused to give us our records. We had to go there to pick them up in person the morning of our appointment with Carolina Fertility. His notes were peppered with comments about Covid and filled with BS about things that he NEVER consulted us about. DO NOT EVER GO THERE! If you want the best treatment and an amazing doctor, then go to Carolina Fertility. They are AMAZING.K

First and foremost, the only reason this facility will get 2 stars is because of my nurse, Tasha. She was always kind, compassionate, and helpful. There also was ONE helpful nurse at the front desk that helped us get our records to transfer to another clinic. The front desk staff was generally uncaring and acted as if you were bothering them. The doctor did not detail hardly any information through our “timed intercourse” and IUI sessions. During our IUI session, as he just took his gloves off, he stated that this would likely not work and we should think about IVF. We had just spent thousands of dollars, and I was still on the table when he said this. My husband and I were outraged and so hurt. The records had little to NO helpful notes, either. We switched to Carolina Fertility Institute, and have had the most WONDERFUL experience. Please, don’t waste your time, money, or mental stability going to this clinic.R

From the age of 12 -13 anyone in my life knows I've always had girl issues , month long periods, sharping pain cramps and from the 1st dr I had till April of this year it's always…From the age of 12 -13 anyone in my life knows I've always had girl issues , month long periods, sharping pain cramps and from the 1st dr I had till April of this year it's always been " it's just hormones " I've had a chemical pregnancy, I knew something was wrong and has always been wrong but the fact that it's been so hard to advocate for myself cause no matter where I went or what doctor I went to they treated me as if I was crazy and my hormones were in balanced and I need birthcontrol or some type of hormone pill , they would do bloodwork and call it a day , I cannot express how much the Healthcare system fails women everyday from the moment we start a new phase of life . When I had given up cause it felt like I had Noone to turn to. I cannot express the gratitude and joy I have to have got to meet my doctor , Dr ransom from the moment I stepped in his office and promised me he would help find out what's truly wrong and not only that done it with one test and in only 2 visits . Tomorrow I will finally be having surgery to remove my probelm that I've lived with for YEARS , thanks to him. I can have a normal monthly , and later on I can start and have a child all because I finally got to a doctor that cared if I was still with any of the other Dr's I don't know where I'd be right now my mental health was decreasing every visit he wanted me to take medicine every month for 10 months till everything " done what it was supposed to" even tho it already didn't work the 3 months before . Nurse Lexy was the nurse at all 4 of my IUI procedures back to back, after my fourth failed iui attempt he looked at my chart and asked me why they didn’t have me on progesterone! I responded with, “I thought the same thing and had said something to his nurse several times about it. His face got red and he said this time (5th iui) he would prescribe me progesterone. I’ve been on a break since that appointment, 2 in a half years ago, not to mention they keep sending me a bill for $112!! I’ve paid out of pocket every single visit and owed them nothing!! I am definitely owed 4 iui procedures or all of my money back and taking the next stepO

This wk, I had my 2nd appointment, all the staff are very considerate and thoughtful, sweet, kind. I feel very comfortable and calm there. Doctor is very sweet! Results came in, everything doctor assumed on his best guess in the first appointment was correct. Says a lot about his knowledgeable about fertility. Thanking the Lord for guiding us to Dr. Ransom. I was diagnosed with Unexplained Infertility @ Quillen Women’s Clinic in 2020. Following the doctor’s advice we did the hyper-ovulation treatment using Clomid. He gave us the option of pairing that with timed intercourse or IUI. We had already spent a few thousand dollars on tests, all out of pocket because our insurance doesn’t cover fertility testing or treatment, so we opted for timed intercourse, under the doctors guidance!! They “guided” us through that twice at nearly another $2k. No baby. I gave up on Quillen and took all of my results to Carolina Fertility Clinic for a second opinion. Within 5 minutes of beginning my ultrasound Dr. Mesen @ Carolina Fertility diagnosed me with endometriosis! I am 36 years old and have always had terrible periods and included a familial history of endometriosis in my new patient paperwork for Quillen and was STILL diagnosed with Unexplained Infertility. Hyper-ovulation treatment without IUI would NEVER had worked for us!! We wasted our time and our money at Quillen. Don’t make the same mistake we did!! Go elsewhere & read the reviews!S

I questioned a procedure that would help my husbands motility (varicocele repair) and he told us it likely wouldn’t work from what he’s seen in the past with his many years of experience, so we decided to do IVF instead. $18k later for IVF with ICSI we yielded low embryo numbers, which is not his fault, but when we went for transfer of our 2/3 embryos, he couldn’t even positively identify the catheter in the fundus of my uterus before he concluded it was okay and transferred them anyway. I was swollen still from egg retrieval, borderline OHSS. Our transfer didn’t work and from the moment it didn’t work his personality changed and he was not nearly as friendly with us in the office. I know the failed IVF was not his fault but I was very disappointed in how we were treated. The embrynologist Natalie and his medicine nurse, Michelle I think, are fantastic. The nurse was never very friendly that rounds with him, Lacie. She is very distant and seems like she has no compassion for people, especially going through infertility treatments. I always felt like I was wasting her time and getting on her nerves. We finally did get the procedure anyway to help my husbands motility after our failed IVF and we then conceived naturally 4 months later, imagine that. I will never see this man again. He is all about the money and could care less if you conceive. Do not waste you time or money. If you truly need help, go anywhere else.M

They prescribed me a hormone medication and advised that I could still get pregnant while taking it. I went for a follow up apt to execute a plan for my healthcare. my husband and I sat in their exam room for 2 n 1/2 hours to be told by a nurse that they could not find my paperwork and to leave and they would contact me within a week. Never heard from them after a few weeks so I called to inquire and was told unless I needed fertility treatments to not bother to even call them.Three weeks ago I went for a check up with my OB and found out I was pregnant. As you can imagine I was so excited because I was under the impression I would never be able to conceive. When my OB tried to make me an ultrasound appointment they were not able to because the fertility clinic had sent over 400 dollars worth of a collection of bills they never sent me. I paid it so that I could even receive medical care for my pregnancy. I miscarried because of the medication the clinic put me on you are apparently NOT supposed to conceive while on this medicine.I

Dr. Ransom plans to begin treatment for my low progesterone at the beginning of my third round...The doctor was out of the country on travel and his nursing team did not call me regarding my progesterone results. I called 3 days after and they quickly told me to double my progesterone medication. This cycle resulted in a negative pregnancy test.I

I love Dr. Ransom, his bedside manner is great. Initially he did the femvue after checking my labs, which were good. The femvue showed both tubes appeared to be blocked. I went in for laparoscopic surgery to try to clear the blockages l, but only one (left) was cleared. After healing, he started me on Clomid and HCG trigger.I

I understood and went with his recommendations. Three rounds of clomid + trigger shot and we still were not pregnant. Ovulating but not pregnant. I tried one IUI while on clomid + trigger. But my husband has no sperm issues so technically we should not need IUI. When that cycle failed, we moved on to a combo cycle of clomid + follistim + trigger shot.I

We were "Unexplained"...He was very straight forward. Didn't get too personal. Good doctor and very knowledgeable. Sometimes I did feel like a number but the end result was what we wanted. Never had to wait long for appointments. Could always get in to be seen if needed without a problem. Wish he would take more time to discuss feelings and how the patient is coping emotionally.I

As with any doctor, come prepared with questions and concerns. Write them down as notes to make sure you don't forget to ask an important question during your appointment. An appointment with a fertility doctor can be overwhelming and emotional with the calmest of doctors. So, have a list that helps guide you through so you don't miss anything while talking with him.I

He always had a smile and was ready thank answer questions but seemed almost as happy as my husband and I to hear our baby’s heartbeat for the very first time!... For our fresh cycle, we used started out with birth control and Lupron 20 units a day for two weeks. At this point, we had our baseline and then began the Follistim at 300 units a day for about 4-5 days. At our monitoring appointment, it showed that I was creating way more follicles than we had hoped, so he had my coast for a few days to allow my body to absorb some of the follicles back.I

I try to be very educated during appointments, and sometimes I lost a little trust because he would not give me all the information or background. I also wish he would give me more details related to treatment plans.... He also left a lot of the "driving" of things to happen to me as the patient, so just be aware that it will be up to you to keep things moving forward, especially in the preliminary stages.I

After an HSG, IVF was likely our only viable option & honestly we weren't sure we would be able to afford it.... Overall, pills were our first option. I had used Clomid several years prior which had been helpful in conception for us. So, when we sought to have another child, Clomid was the obvious option. But after 4-5 cycles nothing was happening. So we did 3-4 months of Femara, but still nothing. I had an HSG and much to our surprise, it appeared that both tubes were blocked - no reason known. We had actually just had a miscarriage several months prior. At that point IVF was presented & we decided to take a step back.I

Dr. Assad knew this and I was passed along as quick as possible. My questions did not matter to him. He wrote me a prescription and was done. He didnt care that it wasnt helping.... Visits were very short (5-10minutes) considering I drove over an hour. He cared less about me or my questions. Terrible bedside. He only seemed in it for the moneyWho you would meet
