The only staff who…I used Oregon Fertility Institute for outside monitoring for IVF. Dr. Chang and her staff were rude and I felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there. The only staff who were friendly were phlebotomists. Since I was an outside monitoring patient, Dr. Chang required I pay for 1/2 of each visit upfront then the total amount was ran through my insurance. I saw Dr. Chang 6/9/25 - 11/26/25 and she owes me round $3.5k from claims that were processed by my insurance. There are a few claims where the insurance asked Dr. Chang for additional information in order to process the claim and her staff refused to provide the information and therefore have refused to refund me for claims that were processed where I am due a refund. The staff told me to submit the additional information needed if I wanted which I wasn't able to do because I don't have access to the portal between Dr. Chang's office and the insurance and told them that, which their response was "that's not my problem". I have UnitedHealthcare insurance and according to them, Dr. Chang is operating outside their established agreement and should not be collecting funds upfront. Also, if a claim is denied due to not providing the additional information, then according to UHC, Dr. Chang should have reimbursed me in full for the payment. I've since filed a dispute with UHC to try to get them to help me recoup what Dr. Change owes me. IVF is stressful enough and Dr. Chang and her staff made it even more stressful. IVF is also expensive enough and to actively refuse to reimburse a patient funds that are rightfully there's is a whole new level of low. Dr. Chang is part of the problem with healthcare and I would highly recommend not to use her for outside monitoring for IVF.
