We were recommended to this clinic by and agency and we figured we could trust them, at the beginning they are really friendly and wheeling to answer questions. However once they have you sign the contract they are terrible, they don't return calls they don't know what's going on most of the times you call. We were just waiting to get our embryos transfer and a day before they canceled. We had a surrogate and had us spend the money on all the screening and medical clearance they found a uterine polyps and they said that we needed to schedule a removed that we paid over $20,000 to get it removed they mention that with this procedure we could proceed and a day before getting the transfer done they cancel that we could not use her any more, they really only care about your money nothing else the way we found out was with an email send to the screening agency not even directly to us. During that time they have change staff all the time you will never get the same person. I found out that I'm not the only one that this has happen to theirs a group of people with the similar situation. We finally did hear back, with just days to spare until we were charged for another year of storage, and NEFI said they would delay our payment until paperwork was signed re: the embryo donation. After a few more weeks of lack of communication on their part, we were charged for another year of storage this morning. And, naturally, NEFI has not returned our messages. We will be initiating a chargeback with our bank first thing in the morning. This was especially important since we have a surrogate who has a healthy reproductive cycle and lining who did not need extra medications/hormones unnecessarily. Not knowing where to turn and feeling totally helpless when trying to conceive, Dr Lavy and his team explained the process step by step. Not only is his team friendly and courteous, they are understanding and do everything in their power to help me feel comfortable. I remember my very first phone conversation with Deborah at the front desk, she listened entirely to my story, was compassionate and walked me through the steps to get started. I immediatley felt at ease with my decision to choose NEF to help us start our family worry free. A brief backstory- in the spring of 2018 I found myself (A previously healthy 36 year old woman with no prior health conditions), diagnosed with a rare form of cardiomyopathy called LVNC. While this diagnosis rattled me to the core, it also left me with a profound sense of clarity. I had just met the love of my life, (who earned this title by never leaving my side over the months of sickness and recovery). We dreamed of having a family, and sought to get some answers. Needless to say, it was quickly advised that a pregnancy could prove fatal for me. We were discouraged, Once again we felt as though we were at the bottom of a very uphill battle. Enter Stephanie. A childhood friend of mine, who (ironically) had been a surrogate previously with NEFI and elsewhere. She was a huge support through my cardiac journey. Stephanie, who had previously proclaimed that her role as a professional surrogate was over- had changed her mind for me. This time was different. We couldn’t believe this could be a reality for us, and a friend would sacrifice such a great deal to give us a chance to be parents. Stephanie couldn’t speak highly enough of NEFI, and assured me we were in the best hands choosing to work with them. She was right. I work in the medical field, and understand how paramount professionalism is in an environment such as this. NEFI sets the bar. I was incredibly impressed from stepping off the elevator. Assisted reproduction of any kind is a delicate, emotionally charged, hormonal time for most people. The staff at NEFI was there to help me navigate the entire process with ease. From answering anxiety ridden emails, to just checking in with informative information about the next steps. I found this so reassuring. Dr. Lavy provides a high level of comfort through the transfer as well. Our transfer was done on Valentine’s Day, 2020. You could feel the energy in the room. The two week wait was brutal, and I found NEFI to be incredibly supportive. Stephanie is currently 21 weeks pregnant with my miracle girl, and without NEFI this wouldn’t have been possible for us. After going to a well-known clinic in NYC and being treated like a number/case, someone recommended Dr. Browne to me. I initially thought I'd just go for a single consult, given she was 2 hours away, but I was blown away from the first appointment and ended up going through an IUI and one cycle of IVF with her. She diagnosed me with PCOS, which my first doctor had missed, and didn't push IVF on me, unlike other doctors I'd seen who wanted to immediately move to that without caring about underlying issue/s. Although I did eventually do IVF, I never felt pressured into it or like Dr. Browne didn't value me as a patient if I wasn't doing IVF, as I'd felt at the NYC practice. Although I got pregnant in my first IVF cycle (2nd FET), that's not why I'm giving Dr. Browne 5 stars. She is the most compassionate, intelligent, caring doctor I have ever met. She was available day and night by text and made the whole infertility experience a million times easier. She truly cares about her patients and is so extremely generous with her time and energy. After my first FET, I was feeling very pessimistic and nervous about the result. Before we even knew it had failed (right before my beta), Dr. Browne took the time to talk through options with me IF it failed. She didn't rush me or make me feel bad/crazy for thinking worst case scenario. When it didn't ultimately work, I felt SO much better having had that conversation and feeling that she was 100% invested in my becoming pregnant. This bedside manner is invaluable when dealing with such a fraught process as ART. I cannot speak to this practice as a whole since I've never been there, but I can't recommend Dr. Browne enough and am eternally grateful for her.

I have never had such personable and caring experience at a medical office, including front desk, nurses and lab techs. I was always greeted with a smile, they knew my name, what is going on with me, and were there for absolutely anything I may need. Even though I was the primary patient, they also made sure to make my husband feel just as important during the whole process. I liked Dr. Lavy from the first time we met. He is not a doctor who will sugarcoat things or a touchy-feely kind. But he is honest, exudes calm and confidence. Cool as a cucumber with an occasional joke to lighten a difficult conversation. He explained the process in simple terms, answered all questions and we never felt rushed. When he looked at me and told me: we will get you pregnant, I believed him, even after the first attempt failed. Yes, it is true that you do not see the doctor often unless there is a need to discuss results or do retrieval/ transfer. At the beginning I thought that it was strange but after 20 blood tests and ultrasounds I realized that nurses and techs are doing an excellent job following Dr. Lavy’s instructions. I realized that there was no need for a doctor to assist with routine check-ups. The doctor was aware of what is going on with me and I was assured that he is in constant communication with his staff. Access to a personal patient portal online was extremely helpful and calming. I probably logged in a 1000x just to check my results, go over list of medications and instructions. Nurses do a great job explaining all meds and provide training in giving shots. And they were always accessible by phone/email. And the waiting time during routine appointments was always very short. I felt sad when we had to transfer to a regular OBGYN, because this staff knew me and my unborn babies and I could tell that they genuinely cared. We are proud (thankful and blessed) parents of 1 year old triplets and we would recommend NEFI to anyone. We believe that NEFI is passionate about helping families regardless of their personal financial background or any other status/situation.
