I do not recommend this office to anyone.C

I had the procedure and was told there wasn't a lot of tissue in there, but I had only started spotting the day before surgery so there should have been a lot. After the surgery I had uncontrollable pain and extremely heavy bleeding (bled for a month and passed tons of clots, some bigger than a golf ball due to leftover tissue.) When I'd call with my concerns the doctor on call was not helpful. When I went in for a follow up, the first thing he said was he wants this day to be over and was scrambling to get my chart to pull up saying I don't think there was cancer (I didn't even know they checked for that). It was just very unprofessional and he never checked my blood levels post op. I decided to go to my regular doctor and now I have severe anemia (which I've had issues with in the past and that's in my patient information). Glad I listened to my gut and got help somewhere else. I will never go back to Dr. Owens. I will say the front desk and ultrasound tech was very nice, my issue is with Doctor Owens.S

I have been trying to get a medication refilled for 9 days, I have had to call every single day and they tell me Doctor will look at the refill request and send over to my pharmacy.... but he doesn't. They are apparently down to one doctor now, (like that's the patient's fault) my medication is specific not to miss a dose and if I do, to consult the physician, which I have been trying to do. Now experiencing major migraines and all the receptionist tells me is the refill request is on the doctor's desk and he will look at it when he is in office. I hiiiiighly DO NOT recommend this office for care.T
Dr Owens is the best. My twins were born via cesarean with no issue, and my youngest via VBAC 2 years later. Always listened to and addressed my concerns.J
Dr. Owens is just pure gold. He’s delivered all 5 of my nieces and nephews without any complications and one of them was an almost 11 lb, 24 inch baby that was delivered vaginally…Dr. Owens is just pure gold. He has delivered my two children as well. My first was OP (sunny side up) and required the vacuum and most OBs would have done a c-section but NOT HIM! He truly goes above and beyond for his patients. My brother in law whom works in surgery has always stated he’s the best OB in Bakersfield and I truly have experienced that. I am pregnant with my 3rd and can’t imagine anyone else delivering my baby. Thank you Dr. Owens for always taking care of my family and I with lots of laughs along the way. You are such a rich blessing to kern county!!D

I had to go back in person just to get an extension from work when again, they already know I've been cut on. My job sent over FMLA papers and it's $25 just to get paperwork filled out. Ridiculous. Oh and don't think you can just email them anything over because they won't accept it unless it's your registration paperwork. I'm being charged for everything just to be ignored when I bring up my complaints.G

I was advised to have an abortion which I refused. Someone referred me to Owens!! God bless him! He held my hand throughout the pregnancy until 36 weeks when they were born! They are 22 years old now. God used Owens to fulfill a miracle in my life and I am forever grateful. Long live Dr. Owens!G

So, my appointment was scheduled for 8:15 am, I advised the receptionist that I wouldn't make it at that time but I can just take my daughter with me and she said there are no children allowed. Okay, I understand, I then told her that I wouldn't make the 8:15 time because my daughter cannot go on campus until 8 am, when they open the gate. She said, that's fine, you have a 15 minute grace period. I said, okay great. I arrived at my appointment at 8:30, allowed the gal next to me to check in before me, even though I was there first, the receptionist couldn't even find this lady on their appointment list. After a few minutes, the receptionist told her to have a seat. She then proceeded to assist me and when I gave her my name she said, oh, your appointment was canceled. I was like, huh, excuse me... but I was told I had a 15 minute grace period to get here. She said, well, I don't know who told you that. I said the person who helped me schedule the appointment. I explained my situation to her and she reassured me that it would be okay because of the 15 minute grace period. She then said, well, you were still late because the lady in front of you was checked in at 8:34. I then told her I tried calling but no one answered and that the message said the office doesn't open until 8:30, and if I wanted to speak to the on-call doctor I can wait on the line. I tried to explain and showed her I called but she still refused. This place is horrible and the office staff is very inconsiderate and rude. I couldn't tell you about the doctor because I never got to see one. I will gladly look for another OBGYN. Sir or madam, your office staff are going to cost your customers, I don't even know if you care or know. I even had to request the day off of work for this appointment. Inconsiderate and no empathy for people.K

The grace period is 15 minutes. I arrived late and was told I would have to call and reschedule. Other complaints are I have told the office over and over again that they have my LMP wrong but the refuse to list or get my first set of bloodwork and ultrasounds from my primary doctor. Overly frustrated and do not recommend. :(

My pregnancy started out great and normal considering I’m young and only 21 years old, but things took a turn once I hit 30 weeks. My blood pressure spiked up over the 180/100s and he never once was concerned about it. Kept giving more and more meds that did absolutely nothing. I went to the ER 3 time for my blood pressure with severe symptoms of preeclampsia. He never wanted to admit that I had it and that I was fine and healthy since I’m young. If it weren’t for my mom and all her nurse friends fighting him to help me I would’ve died along with my baby. He wanted to send me home every time I was in the hospital and the second time he finally checked my blood levels after wanting to send me home the morning of and I was going into kidney failure which caused me to have a c section at 31 weeks. My baby was in the NICU for a month and 2 weeks. I know that if he had just listened to me and my family this maybe could’ve been avoided. He also discharged me not even 48 hours after a c section, and didn’t agree with the maternal fetal medicine doctor when he recommended I stay in the hospital longer. He said that doctor didn’t know what he was talking about. I was even readmitted to the hospital after being sent home too soon for my blood pressure. My blood pressure is just now starting to go back to normal after almost 4 months. He is not a good doctor and doesn’t care if anything is wrong with you. Me and my baby are fine and healthy but I am suffering severe anxiety and depression from this traumatic experience. So please reconsider before picking this office.W

While in their care the front desk was always nice, the MA’s were good at their jobs, the ultrasound techs were knowledgeable, Dr.Owens is great and his NP’s deliver care that is just as good when Dr. Owens is out of office. Shortly after switching I developed gestational hypertension that staff monitored thoroughly, with non-stress tests to monitor baby’s health for the last stretch of my pregnancy. I ultimately ended up being induced just after my due date passed because of the hypertension. I cannot say enough good things about my birthing experience with Dr.Owens!! He was so incredibly encouraging in the delivery room while pushing, and even had me reach down and feel my son crowning(that’s when I lost it😭). He made my birthing experience amazing! Even personally called me the next day to make sure I was doing well. I would highly recommend him and his staff for pregnancy needs!A

I could of sent it secure email as I am the CNO of a hospital, but the office manager didn’t care to help solve the problem. Maybe they have an over abundance of patients and need to slim down. I can only imagine how many patients they have lost over this new policy and not notifying their clients of the change. She was extremely rude and overall a horrendous lady. She made my son cry, and made me and my wife feel like we were breaking the rules AFTER Dr. Owens gave us the ok to be in the ultrasound room. Apparently, she runs the show. Horrible experience, never going back. I am actually surprised that we gave this office 4 visits, I wish we would have ditched this office after the first visit. If I had been an adult I would have said that it felt like the mother of all Bladder Infections. However I was a child and had neither the experience nor the vocabulary.
