Everyone is so positive, patient, and kind--even when we know we've had a million questions and requests along the way. A huge shout out to Anna in billing, who truly went above and beyond for us. We were having trouble with understanding and verifying our fertility benefits, and she personally took the time to call and help verify everything for us. Her kindness, dedication, and willingness to help took so much stress off our shoulders during an already stressful time. Also, a huge shout out to Ashley in nursing who has put up with all my questions and concerns and has been so quick to respond and ease my anxiety. While many of the staff members were kind and personable, when you’re investing tens of thousands of dollars into something as important as building your family, you expect the highest level of care across every aspect of the clinic. Initially, I chose this clinic based on its strong advertising and reputation in the area. However, after taking a deeper look into their laboratory standards, I learned that their lab is not CAP-certified. For me, that raised concerns about the level of oversight, quality control, and accountability in the handling of embryos—an incredibly critical part of the IVF process. I ultimately decided to switch to another clinic whose lab has been CAP-certified from the start. Since making that change, I’ve experienced progressively better results and, just as importantly, a much greater sense of confidence and peace of mind. Knowing that the lab adheres to the highest standards in accuracy, safety, and quality has made a meaningful difference in my experience. Every patient’s journey is different, but for those considering IVF, I would strongly encourage looking beyond marketing and taking time to evaluate the lab’s credentials and standards. It’s a crucial piece of the process that shouldn’t be overlooked.

My doctor told me “don’t research online because you’ll never do it”, which tells you they know how bad it can be, but why does it have to be?? But I did research beforehand, I knew it could be either mildly uncomfortable or very painful for some women, you can’t know until you have the procedure. Like most women at a fertility clinic, I was desperate and wanted to start a family so I agreed because you can’t go forward with IUI or IVF without the procedure. During the procedure, the pain was excruciating. I literally gripped the table crying and they didn’t stop. The nurses looked solemn before they started also knowing it could be bad, but said only, “Just a little more,” while I cried feeling powerless. No one offered to stop or provide any meaningful pain relief, just ibuprofen beforehand. The images ended up blurry because I was in so much pain I could barely stay still. So they were almost unusable anyway. Afterwards, I was left alone beside the bloody gauze and scary and barbaric looking tenaculum or vulsellum to “recover,” then ushered out a back door instead of the main waiting area like they didn’t want people to see my face or something. It felt dehumanizing and deeply traumatizing. The experience was so distressing that I decided not to continue fertility treatments, a loss I still grieve. I’m sharing this so others can be better informed and advocate for themselves. Ask for real pain management and compassionate care. No one should be subjected to that kind of pain or fear especially by a medical team who is supposed to do no harm.C

They had the medical records and notes from my wife's neurologist from nearly the beginning, but only after a slew of tests they decide to stop the plan based on neurological information they had the entire time? Only saving grace of experience for us was the nurse Case manager who helped with a massive communication issue between blue sky and Natera labs. If you chose blue sky I hope your experience is good, and not a horrific, tike consuming, expensive cluster that could have easily been avoided.T

I learned more in my first consultation with Dr. Rigg's then I did the entire five years with my previous doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable with every patient. While I had to keep my BMI under 39, I wasn't asked to go on any crazy diets or told to "lose at least 100lbs and then IVF might be an option" like I had been told with a previous doctor. Dr. Riggs asked me to stop taking the 15+ supplements I thought I had to take to manage my PCOS and dropped me to a simple prenantal (and vitamin D after bloodwork). He ran every diagnostic test for my husband and I and determined that I needed to lose all of two pounds, and then we started with medicated timed cycles. We were pregnant within the year. The 10-month waiting list for the consultation was worth the care, kindness, and patience we were shown by everyone at Blue Sky. During cycles, when I needed to take a break, it was only looked at with kindness. Hayley and Molly at the front desk are so sweet and became my unofficial cheerleaders 🌟 Ashley made me feel so comfortable with having to do ultrasounds, and all the nurses and staff were so knowledgeable, caring, and willing to work with me to find the best solution for my medications. If you are reading this don’t become another patient who has the same experience that I and countless other women have had. Dr. Riggs might seem like a nice competent doctor but the fact is that he is the ONLY doctor on staff, competent fertility clinics have 3+ doctors on staff so that they don’t ever have to put women on birth control. He puts everyone on birth control which is not the best practice and a pure ego move by Dr. Riggs. I don’t know how he has good reviews at all - we had a terrible experience in using this clinic and I do not want anyone else to waste all the time and money I have. I found out how truly incompetent the clinic was once I switched and went to RMA in California. Once I saw a real competent fertility clinic I realized what a hack job I had at blue sky. I was a patient here from March 2021 to June 2022. I did two rounds of IVF and my wife did IVF once and IUI 6 times. After over a year and over 80k wasted we had nothing. We went to RMA in CA did IVF twice with a competent clinic and are now pregnant. Please don’t let my story be your story. Run from blue sky!K

In an attempt to understand their pricing, Ashleigh became clearly irritated with my questions and insisted twice that I set up an appointment with the doctor to discuss further. However, my questions were not regarding the procedure, but were regarding billing, which is Ashleigh's department. Another issue we had was when I went to drop off a sample for analysis. My appointment was at 7:45 am, but their phones were not turned on until 7:50. We were not able to enter the building without first speaking with someone on the phone, but that was not possible without their phones being turned on. I value my time, as I am a very busy person, so their phones not being turned on at the correct time is unacceptable. The staff need to get to work earlier if they are failing to open at the correct time. I am a firm believer in only giving my business to companies that are good from the front desk to billing to the professional, and everyone in between. Therefore, Blue Sky Fertility has lost my business.M

After 2 clinics (one in OP and one in STL both in network for Progyny), 3 failed transfer cycles, lots of money wasted on out of pocket deductibles, and no real answers, my husband and I are so happy we tried one more time and found Blue Sky. My advice is Dr Riggs and team may have a wait but that’s because they’re hands down the best! I wish I would have started with Blue Sky and I would recommend them 100% to anyone. We are so lucky to have one of the top 10 fertility centers in the US right here in OP/Kansas City.I
