While my…I would not recommend this practice based on my experience. I was referred to this urologist for two separate concerns: infertility and an unrelated medical issue. While my insurance does not provide coverage for infertility services, it does cover the other medical concern. Despite both issues being addressed by the same physician, I was informed that I would need to schedule two separate appointments and that I would not be permitted to discuss both concerns during a single visit. I was further advised that the reason for the separate appointments was billing-related—one visit would be billed to my insurance for the covered medical issue, while the infertility consultation would be billed directly to me as an out-of-pocket expense. I understand that medical practices must comply with billing and insurance requirements; however, I found it extremely frustrating and unacceptable to encounter a process that appeared to put administrative and financial interests ahead of patient care. Being told that I could not discuss two legitimate medical concerns with the same physician during the same visit felt unnecessarily rigid and dismissive. Patients often seek medical help during stressful and vulnerable times, and this experience left me feeling like convenience, compassion, and common sense were sacrificed in favor of maximizing billing opportunities. A far more patient-focused approach should be expected.
