Dr. Sorra was correct that it was likely PCOS that was causing my anovulation, but I did used to have normal androgen labs during my menses phase as of October 2024. So I know PCOS is not my baseline. I still had insulin resistance at the time, but it had gotten progressively worse since 2024 after previously improving significantly post-2023, which was very odd to me. I wish Dr. Sorra had investigated further as to what caused my PCOS, because there is not evidence to say our normal daily exposure to potential toxins is part of it, and if my insulin resistance is worsening despite lifestyle changes to dampen blood sugar spikes, which I did implement, more should have been done. I understand that this would likely require coordination with outside specialists or my primary care provider, however, I wish at least something was done. Besides that, my weight-neutral approach was dismissed despite the fact I gained weight not being entirely due to metabolic changes and likely being due to extremely increased calorie needs post surgery plus a huge amount of difficulty with physical activity from ME/CFS, reducing my baseline ability to do regular physical activity by non-chronically ill and non-neurodivergent standards. I have had mostly stable weight since my last appointment with them, and weight stability, not weight loss, is my goal. I felt overlooked with the fact Dr. Sorra said there was nothing more that could be done for me because I don’t think the insulin resistance had only one cause.
