The nursing staff and scheduling staff are great. However, Dr. Aktin's himself is trash. He came in the room, threw some papers at my husband and I, told us the INSANE cost of everything and sent us on our way. He didn't ask us what our concerns were. He didn't ask anything. He didn't ask what options I'm comfortable with or anything. I've never felt as much like a dollar sign in that moment and judged IMMEDIATELY for possibly not having the money for testing (we don't but I felt so dismissed for this). I'm heartbroken for my husband and I because I don't know even where to go from here. He was in our room for maybe 30 secs. I'm thankful this appointment was covered because, if it wasn't, i would have told them to send it to collections and I wouldn't have given them a dime I was so mad and upset.

Imagine 4 cycles of ivf without any lab testing and every time i questioned that he will reply with the new studies recommended no lab testing no hormones monitoring! Im the one to blame i should’ve left and not retuned back since my first appointment when he got excited when i said im here for ivf so he through the folder on the floor and rushed out to bring me a copy of what i start calling worksheets of instructions. They will tell you nothing but an outdated copy of a worksheet for every cycle. I kept going back because i felt i want to give my embryos a chance and didn’t trust the quality of the lab to transfer my embryos to a different clinic. The lab is severely outdated the lab tech/ embryologist lives in Michigan and she’s only there one week a month!. No human kindness from the doctor or the nurse. I can’t understand how this place is still open. Worst experience ever I won’t recommend this doctor to my worse enemies. At my third transfer im very sure it wasn’t even in my uterus he took forever and was nervous and i felt the fluid on my thigh. I cant forgive myself for wasting my time and 15 eggs at this clinic. Called the fertility center and couldn't get an answer, so left them a voicemail. The lab tech called back on the fourth day and rudely told us she sent them already. Oddly enough, as soon as we got off the phone with them, our doctor called and just received the test results in minutes before. We were both pretty disappointed with our experience so far. The first time we went they said they needed $400 up front before we could be seen, which wasn’t detailed when we made the appointment. So we rescheduled and came back. When I tell you we were both extremely confused, no one explained a single thing. We got taken to a room, was told to leave a sample. THATS IT. No explanation about how the whole process works, no information about any of it , it was ridiculous! After the sample was left we were told ‘we’ll call you’ and sent on our way and that was it. I am writing this based off my first appointment I had. The women who worked there was super nice and helpful which brings this to a two star. Now when I seen the doctor himself he seemed in a hurry and already had in mind what he wanted me go do, with my situation I had options but his option gives him more money. This isn't my first time down this road as I seen a fertility specialist in Austin TX who was absolutely amazing. I have looked up another RE and won't be going back here. I do have to get my sugar under control first according to blood work which was seen at this visit and I'm okay with that which brings this to 3 stars but after that visit I definitely was not planning on going back there even before I found out . After doing this once before I know how it's supposed to go the right way. If you like them being in a hurry and caring more about money than the right route for you to go this may be the place for you. I'd rather pay a new consultation fee for a different person than go back here. I myself have seen good and bad reviews for here.
