Match Made Perfect

The Matching Process

The surrogacy matching process can feel a little like dating in the modern world. Patriot Conceptions is like cupid, but instead of matching hopeless romantics together, we are matching hopeful parents with selfless surrogates. We match surrogates with parents based on their expectations, personality, beliefs, and location. We often hear from surrogates that waiting to be matched can be anxiety-inducing. Here are a couple of proactive steps a surrogate can take to speed up the matching process.

Profile Photos

You know what they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words." Much like a blind date, intended parents will use your profile photos to get a sense of who you are. Here are a few tips to take eye-catching surrogacy profile photos.

  • Avoid selfies and photos that are taken in mirrors. Have a trusted friend take one for you. If you have any professional photos, those will be perfect!

  • Avoid filters by finding the right lighting.

  • Add at least one full-length picture of yourself.

  • Show us your personality and what makes you, you! If you like hiking, bring a friend along and have them take a photo of you in front of a beautiful scene.

  • Avoid party photos. Include family photos, pictures with your children, and pictures with your spouse.

Self-Introduction Video

If a picture says a thousand words then a video says a million. A self-introduction video is a great way to showcase your personality and why you want to become a surrogate. Here are some tips to capture a flattering self-introduction video.

  • Find a quiet place. Noice can be distracting and we want to hear from you!

  • If you don't have a tripod, either have someone with steady hands to record the video for you or place it in a steady location.

  • Include a short introduction of yourself and then share with the intended parents why you want to become a surrogate.

  • The duration of the video should be between 30 to 40 seconds. If you have a hard time fitting in what you have to say in that amount of time, try to not go over a minute. Keep it short and sweet! The intended parents will be asking you plenty of questions during the video chat with them.

  • Dress business casual and wear light-natural make up.

  • Remove any visible piercings and cover any visible tattoos.

Conclusion

Surrogacy is such an exciting process, but we do understand that the beginning stages can leave you filled with bubbling anticipation. We hope these tips find you well. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
